Solar filters are very dangerous. One miscalculation, one crack in the glass, one pinhole in the material, and you can go blind. I am taking astronomy in college and the professor states that if you want a solar telescope, buy a solar telescope. Otherwise, use your existing telescope for what it was designed for: viewing the night sky. Don't take any chances. Play it safe.
