If you ever want to view the sun you need to have this filter if you have a Celestron Nexstar 130 SLT telescope. NEVER look into the sun directly and never point your scope at the sun without this filter or you will damage your vision and the internal temperature of your scope will rise and ruin your scope.
This solar filter attaches to the end of your scope (where your lens cover goes). This will protect your scope from the temperature increase and aid you with solar viewing.

While the solar filter works well, keep an eye on the filter. The mylar tends to slip off of the filter when it gets hot. If you are looking at the sun and it slips off, you could seriously damage your eyes.
