Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Celestron 44340 LCD Digital LDM Biological MicroscopeCustomer Review: dosent do what it says ; Summary: 1 Stars
I buy error coins from e bay,,for years now and thought id sell some , and i needed to get some real clear close ups of the coins, you know so i could sell them , i went on your web sight (Amazon)and looked at some microscopes that could take pictures, and the celestron #44340 with a lcd screen, and stated it could take picture,,perfect, just what i was looking for ,so i bought it, it arrived really fast, when i prepared it to take pictures it failed,,,not only would it not take pictures you couldnt even see it ,so i called up clestron and talked to some rude guy,who said it wouldnt take pictures because the lowest power lens it had was was to powerful and all i would be able to see is a piece of linclons beard?I told him about what it stated on their brochure about it,it stated it could take pictures of coins!!!He got angry with me for going on and on about it..(rude)//now i had to down load prepaid passage to send it back,as of now, i have not received my money back, its not easy when they(clestron)print false ,misleading things the say, that arent true,,it makes me very angry,,all the time its taking me ,and now i have to start all over again,,i wish Amazom. com had a $500.00 cash prize for having to face such a big misleading problem ..It should not have happened.P.oed in sunny Miami >Dino.<
Customer Review: don't buy for opaque specimens Summary: 1 Stars
We bought this scope to test it out as a museum display for an opaque (solid metal) specimen. The design of the top light is poor -- the objective lenses cast a shadow on the specimen when the top light is used. Other reviews note that the top light isn't strong enough for opaque specimens anyway. I'd avoid this scope if that's what you need to look at.
For transparent slides, though, I expect it works great, and the video display is a very compelling feature.
Customer Review: Junk - Cheap Summary: 1 Stars
I've had 3 of these exact units. None of them work any longer.
- One unit had a screen that stopped working
- One unit had a loose connection between the base and the optics, making focus impossible
- One unit stopped working all-together after only a couple of uses.
While this microscope is a GREAT idea, the quality is terrible, and it WILL break (with no effort from you)
Customer Review: Get a real Microscope--avoid disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
Resolution is really disappointing. Perhaps I'm spoiled by quality optics but if you're trying to learn, get something that shows you what you are trying to learn, and if you've learned and want something novel, this isn't it. Very disappointing.
Customer Review: cheap Summary: 1 Stars
Turrent loose, camera loose, stage loose. There is a permanent QC stamp on the screen. Very very hard to get in focus pictures because everything is loose and constantly changes.
I would NOT buy another one.
