I'm a reef keeper / clownfish breeder. This microscope was mentioned at MACNA this year and looked like what I was looking for.
As a bonus it takes nice pictures and videos. No more looking thru a tiny view finder. Your specimen is right there on the screen in front of your eyes. Anyone gathered around can see the clear image. You can also share it using the picture and vid capture.

The microscope was much better than I expected for the price. The unit must have been update since the other reviews because I had none of the issues that were mentioned . I would not hesitate to purchase this scope. We were also able to use it on a Mac without any problems. You can't load the software that comes with it but the Mac can view it just like web cam with no modifications.

Pretty awesome options. Has a surprising amount of existing internal memory and the battery life is extensive. I love it and use it daily. Amazon was a hundred dollars less than ordering directly from the Celestron site.
I purchased this item over a year ago and I still use it regularly with no problems yet, and I haven't had to change the batteries yet!

This is an awesome microscope; I wish I had it when I was taking anatomy. It doesn't' get any better than this; you can take pictures of your slides and record things moving. I recorded my blood which I thought was pretty cool and my mom's, she has Pernicious Anemia and I could see the difference in our blood samples. Excellent amateur/student microscope for the money, which was $130 when I bought it from amazon on 12/4/10, but seems to have fluctuated a bit since then. Only fault I could find was lack of a fine focus (though coarse focus does operate very smoothly). But for the price, you just can't complain about it.
