Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Celestron 31035 AstroMaster 76 EQ Reflector TelescopeCustomer Review: Great Scope , Great Price ! ! ! ! Summary: 4 Stars
I have owned 8 maybe 10 telescopes in my life . Mostly lower priced models ( Gilbert,Tasco,Bushnell )that I use for a year or two and give away . I always wanted a Celestron Newtonian and knew I was in for a pleasant surprise when I first lifted the unopened box (nearly 30 pounds) . Opening the box I went directly to the tube , and saw it was aluminum . Every single part I de-boxed was a well built part . Easy to assemble and has a great equatorial mount with steel legs on the stand . I wish it came with two eyepieces , but hey , I'll order a different one from Celestron . Buy it , if it be your first scope , or eleventh , you WILL be grateful you did
Customer Review: Ok for planets and moon Summary: 3 Stars
The scope if good for watching the moon and planets. The eyepiece coming along with the product would not be sufficient for observing finer details. I had to buy a 6mm eyepiece separately to get a closer look of the moon and planets. The terrestrial view is quite good though. I would recommend buying a 120mm or greater to have room for future magnification, if needed. I heard that the 4mm eyepiece does not produce good views since the 76mm diameter is not enough for that magnification. I would say 6mm is the lowest you could try with this scope.
