Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Celestron 21061 AstroMaster 70 AZ Refractor TelescopeCustomer Review: Celestron 21061: Great Starter Telescope Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my Nephews ages 7 and 8. I thought it would be a great gift for their FIRST telescope and I was right. I am the best Aunt ever!!! They absolutely love it. My brother and Sister-in-law loves it the most and have been star gazing every night and said you can see the details of the moon.
They live in Florida, so I am sure they can appreciate the clear nightly sky. I personally would probably have not bought this telescope for me because I live in New York...you would be very lucky to see at least one star in the sky just by looking up. They also said it was quite easy to set up.
The best part is that they couldn't believe how much I bought it for, Thank you AMAZON! You can beat the price for a first telescope. If you are a professional stargazer...you probably will not appreciate this telescope.
Customer Review: Astromaster 70 AZ Summary: 5 Stars
Very good telescope! One thing I noticed about this telescope is its excellent build. It is very well built,I got it for $60, and the tripod alone is probably worth that price. Living in a suburban area, my skies are somewhat light-polluted,and I find great enjoyment in looking at an "empty" patch of sky, just as Hubble did, and seeing just how many stars were in that area. I tried to look at Jupiter, for Saturn is not visible this time of year, and found it looked like a large, white circle. My purchase of a Celestron 94119-10 1.25 " Eyepiece Filter Set should solve that problem. It is extremely easy to set up, I did so in 10 minutes. Overall, a very affordable, useful telescope for the amateur, with an excellent build and good optics.

Customer Review: Jenna's christmas gift Summary: 5 Stars
My granddaughter (who turned 11 the end of Dec.) had a telescope on her Christmas list. That really amazed me - that it wasn't some push button electronic gizmo! I went to a toy store web site, but the reviews weren't great for their item, so I surfed until I found this one. She was S-O-O-O-O delighted when she opened it - and when my son-in-law put it together I was impressed with the solid construction. To be honest, I haven't had the opportunity to use it myself, but from what I saw (and the interest it peaked in my son-in-law) I would highly recommend this product. If anyone is looking for a well made telescope for a pre-teen and up - not as a toy - but as an opportunity to peak interest in the real world, check this telescope out.
Customer Review: Easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this scope for my neighbor's kids as a Christmas present. They (along with their dad) had very little experience with telescopes, so I expected it would take some time (along with a little help from me) to get this scope up and running. I was wrong. The very night I gave it to them, they (actually, the dad) set it up and enjoyed looking at the moon with it. They didn't need me at all. In fact, I have yet to look through the scope myself. They tell me it's fantastic. It certainly struck me as a serious, well-made scope when we took it out of the box. The fact that it is so easy to use makes it a really great scope.
